Engine temp.

My engine temp sits about 3 bars or 2 bars to left of the middle on the gauge. IT could be there all damn week if they car could idle all week. it seems like my thermostat is stuck open. i noticed that my heat temperature isnt as hot as it used to be too. it still hot but before hand on full blast floor vents it could almost light my legs on fire... now it cant.

What u guys think? where does your temp gauge sit?

i'm not gonna be a whole lot of help mechanically, but i was just searching around for temp gauge issues and was finding a lot of threads on coolant temp sensors going bad...maybe pull it off and check for any build ups...if it was going bad you would probably notice some performance issues though (again just info i gathered from some other threads..i'm not sure myself..just trying to help)

if your thermo was stuck open you wouldn't have any heat being registered on the gauge ... trust me i know... i have a 160 and i don't ever have any temp showing... i have a 195 that i need to replace it with but im just to lazy ...

sounds like your just being a little bitch about this ... cold weather will affect the engines temperature... example time...

i have a 160 in my car... in the summer months that needle registers a bit above the O in normal (sn95s...) right now my needle barley touches the N ... so out side temps can affect the block and the oil pan and mess with the temperature of everything

ok i searched for thermostat issues as well and that makes more sense from what i've found if it was stuck open ur engine would not be properly warming up and ur gauge would read low..can prob ignore previous post (i put disclaimer in there for a reason )

here's a linkThermostat - Automotive illustrated glossary

so how do you explain the difference in warm up time between this week and last week? Ambient outside temp the same both weeks. my heat isnt as hot as before i have to crank it just to get some for of warmth in the morning, but last week i could use the #2 or 3 setting and have very toasty heat.

Infact its a lil warmer this week its 0* here

PS 160 in a stock v6 is a dumb idea man. i bet u got shify fuel millage eh
