Not long. Especially if you drive it hard.

You're better off with the 8.8 plus you get posi with it. The 7.5 is an open dif.

so no matter what 8.8 rear end it is, its already got the t-lok on it?
also will a new 2006-7-8 or whichever 8.8 rear end fit? have a couple of take-off sites saved..

I believe ford kept the same rear end in the s197's.

And Zippy told me that MSO had a nice rear end. I don't know what's up with that....

If your 7.5 has t-loc it's not gonna matter with the power the v8's gonna give you. You'll still need a 8.8

your best bet is to find a used one locally. shipping will cost a lot of $$$ if it's traveling long ways.

a differential is what you bolt the ring gear to which when the pinion gear spins it spins the diff in turn turning the axels which turns the wheels

IMO i would get an 8.8 out of a gt and get a decent diff to go with it...you dont need to do anythin to extensive or crazy if you dont plan on pushing really large numbers

8.8 is the diameter of the ring gear in inches.

So 8.8>7.5 just due to being bigger and thus stronger.
