Basic tools. Look underneath your car and look at what needs to be undone. like bolts. I don't think ud have a problem doing it.

This is a pretty turn key swap. An 8.8 will swap with a 7.5 without a problem. I know on a S197 car you need to change the flange on the pinion/driveshaft but that is all. Perhaps someone who has done with a New Edge car can chime in.

If you dont think youll need an 8.8 you could sell it for like $400 and get a couple different mods that would be more beneficial to u.

Not even gettin into future modding with the need of an 8.8 its a good mod. V6s stock have 3.27 gears where the GT has 3.55s. so he will be gettin slightly higher gears AND a t-lok, not needing to worry about installation costs. Then for the future if he gets really into power, his axles will already be able to handle the power.

In 2004 i definitely know the mustang GT used 3.55 gears...and i also know before 2002 they used 3.27. I thought mid 2002 when Ford started using the Tremec TR-3650, the final gear ratio was upped to 3.55. I can find 2004 model specs and 2001 specs....but not 2002 or 2003. Someone enlighten me.

I agree, he should do the swap. IT'S FREE!!! It will give him a t-loc (that he doesn't have stock on the sixer). Plus, it will set him up for big power later if he wants to go that route.

Well thats the question. Do you plan on building the sixer? If not you could still keep it or sell it and buy a nitrous kit =] or a tuner....
