if u do have the money i'd say go with an X pipe or H. if is better. when i get my s/c along with otther things im getting for the s/c im switch to an X or H pipe

anyway most would say X sounds best but of course all are opinions. idk ive never heard all 3 really

X sounds best with a straight through muffler, H sounds best with a chambered muffler, straight pipes are just a cheap way to build exhaust quickly without hassle

no difference in flow measurement. that is where power comes in. just the sound as the flow crosses over at a different rate than at the H cross as opposed to X

thanks guys this post gave me some ideas, i might be going with a 1982-94 5.0 but if i see a good price on a V-6 i think i will take it. Thanks for all the help.

Well then this post couldnt have helped with exhaust much. The exhaust setups on 5.0s make different power with X, H, and no crossover.

On an uneven firing engine, X pipe and straight through mufflers generally make more power, but an H pipe with chambered mufflers will sound better

i would just get long tube headers, off road hpipe, and a mac exhaust and take it off and put your stock exhaust back on when you have an emmision test. thats what im going to do.

the only reason it is more difficult is the k member has clearance issues with the collector pipe when tried to be installed from above, not to mention the steering rack... and from below, the flanges are difficult if not impossible to place with the k member in place
