Y Pipe Dual Exaust

Hey i dont have my mustang yet but i will soon be getting one and need a good exaust cheap. I was thinking of a y-pipe dual hook up, what do these things sound like and are they worth the price.

NO! Stay away from those. They don't help you out at all, and sound crappy imo. Get yourself a h-pipe and a catback exhaust.

The cheapest would prob be goin to a muffler shop in your area and having them custom making you one. If your gonna buy an aftermarket midpipe make sure you get the right size. Shorty, equal length, or for long tube headers.

dual y pipe? go to a muffler shop. or order a x or H pipe along with long tubes and flowmaster 40's or magnoflow. and cats. the y pipe as the worst flow and probably sounds the worst too

Here is the deal:

Go here and look at the off road H pipe from Mac for short tube headers. You seem to be in a funds crunch, and this on is only 162.00 and bolts right to your factory headers. Now you will need a GT mustang cat back to bolt to this new dual midpipe. May I suggest the great sounding Mac catback for the price of 315.00?

Now if i could have done it all over again, I would have gotten:

Mac Long Tube Headers 318.00

Mac Short Off Road H Pipe 162.00

and

Mac Cat Back 315.00

Keep in mind all of these are 99-04 links.

With long tubes, you will gain about 20rwhp over stock cast shorties. Without cats or with high flow cats, you are good for another 10 or so rwhp. And mufflers give you a sound and minimal gains. Go without catalytic converters if you want gains in power and sound

yeah they will work on those years too, but the cat back is different for the bumpers... just get the one for the year mustang you eventually get and you will be fine. these are pretty simple bolt ons, but get a friend with small hands to help with the headers.

You can make it work if you bend pipes and weld or know someone who does.

Don't put words in my mouth please. You can custom fabricate any setup imaginable, but bolt on, you need a crossover midpipe from the long tubes to the cat back.

H pipe gives u better flow..i have straight pipe(true dual) and im keeping it like that. an X or H would be nice..but i dont think it would give any hp to switch just better flow...if it does give hp i imagine its not even 5hp
