engine swap HELP!!!!!!
i have found a 1994 mustang/automatic with 68,000 miles on the tranny and a blown engine for $800..i was wondering first if it would be worth buying and putting money into a new engine or maybe rebuilding it.Also i was wondering what kind of engine to put in..maybe a 3.8? or if possible throw a 5.0 in it.Somebody please let me know quick so i can take up the offer!!

I looked into a swap of a 5.0 and unless you can find a cheap 5.0 motor then buying a new one or one worth working on is still going to be effing expensive. I'm talking, "Hey i can buy another car" expensive. But otherwise it seems like a fun project depending on how much time and money you're willing to put into it. Well.. and how damaged the motor is. =P

Well anything's possible. I mean SSM just made a freaking 10 second v6 'stang.
2700 might be a bit short but if you have the tools, the space, the know how, then i'd say freaking go for it. It would be completely possible and fun if you had said resources. However, if you're like me, and have to drive your car to your buddies just to adjust your headlights, might wanna explore another path. Haha. -poindexter- |

id just buy a used 3.8 motor, u get can them for really cheap on ebay, most of them come ready to drop in, just pay attention to how many miles are on it, usually run about 500 bucks, then u got some room for mods

A 5.0 swap is really possible... You would pretty much need a wrecked donor car with all the parts but ifs a very possible option

if you could find a cheap donor car id say go for the 5.0 definately cause your gonna have some parts to swap..if not...the 3.8 switch out should be no problem
