interior neon help

I had asked the ither day about how to remove the bottom part of the console, and i figured that ch out, but i've been trying to wire in some neons for under the seats and dash to light up the inside. I was trying to run it off of a switch which i put where the lighter socket thing used to be. The only problem is, i blew a fuse so i had to stop working, but i can't figure out how to get them to run off of the switch. They'll stay on all the time, but on't work with the switch...

you have to run the power wire to the switch then from the switch to an actual power sourse like a battery or somethingif you run a wire from the neon to a power source then another wire to the switch then yea the switch is worthless

just hook all the neons up to a cigarette lighter. then you can just plug it in whenever you want to.

yea, do you know if the wires that originally ran to the lighter socket thing are from the battery? or what?

u could run them to the cig lighter in the box under the arm rest, that way it is a easy hook up and clean.

EXACTLY

think of what the switch is actually for.. it breaks/connects the hot wire (power wire)

if you hook it up the the cigarette light it'll ALWAYS be on due to the constant flow of power to it. so when the car is off your neons will be on....

make sure you have the positive from the switch spliced to the main wire, and the negative can just be grounded to any good source of metal or the black wire on the cig lighter

ok, i had the positive connected to the main wire, but the negative i had connected to the negative wire from the neons, and the other positive wire i had connected to the positive wire from the neons.

for my interior cathodes i did an add a circuit from advanced tapped into my fuse box for power added the second fuse for the cathodes then did
add a circuit to top post on switch
positive from cathodes to bottom post on switch
and ground from cathodes to a screw under my dash
its easier than running wire from outside the car
