so my friend who thinks he knows everything about cars and tries to lie about retarted sh!t and was saying how him and his other friend hit 135. His other friend drives a 99-04 v6 automatic. no mods. arent the tires rated at 115 or 120 anyway?

doesnt mean you cant do those speeds. the tires are rated up to a certain speed before they start to break down internally alter compostion--if i am correct...my knowledge could be tweaked on the actual. the top speed is all in the cars governing....corevettes can easily do 200mph given the roadway....but i believe GM has them factory governed(not detuned but limited at say 160mph).

my buddy said he got his v6 to 125, i didnt beleive him, yet i wasnt going to try in my v6. he now has an 01 cobra (may be a 99)...and i have a 99 GT. i know my 96 Grand Am would do 105mph, then the governer kicked in. the tires were rated for say 120 anyway.

no point going that fast until the car can safely handle that speed.

The v6 mustangs governor kicks in at 115, even tho the speedometer goes up to 120. If if you turn the governor off with a tuner, how will you be able to tell after 120?

its not a governor we dont have one the computer simply will not allow the car to do past factory spec tires which were just rated at 115

ive personally taken the car to 136mph before i left off with about 1k rpms left to go

But even if you had a Y spec tire.....the computer doesnt know this because its governed at 115. Howd you know you were doin 136?

the computer is SET so you will not break 115mph
if you dont adjust that you can have a metal tire i dont give a shit wat tire. if its right around the same hieght you wont break 115 idk or care about why you mentioned the spec tire

and how do i know i did 136

secrets...and btw 136 was off by about 2-4mph

who cares about top speed, i could buy a granny car and go 120, its how fast you can get there

(although some granny cars do come with some big ass motors haha)

regaurdless of whether the engine is set or govenred or whatever you want to call it....it cuts out at 115. oh and you prolly hit a highway radar to tell you how fast uou were going. I find the mustang not very aerodynamically friendly when goin over 100.....i do have a stock suspension tho which may be why.

When I got a custom tune for my V6 Mustang, I had the speed limiter setting removed. The Mach1 I own is another story, it is still factory limited to 151mph.

I have BFGoodrich sports and i have taken my pony to 137. SO it is posible. but not on stock stuff.
