what is the idle like, what rpm do you idle at after warm?

its always been like that though...tomoro im gunna check for links cuz when i step on it its like its holding back. my 3rd gear used to run strong now it runs lik 4th

well a vaccuum leak would be noticeable in all gears, especially down low. maybe you just got used to the power output and it just feels slower? time yourself on a 0-60. does your idle fluctuate or sit at 750? it should sit at 750, maybe surge up to 1200 or so on startup, but go back down to 750 and sit. you do have a stock tune dont you?

yea, ive never had the car tuned i believe. its only got exuast n intake, i dont think it needs one for those. but every gear is quite sluggish, 1st seems kinda normal. 2nd i used to be able to punch at 2000rpms and it would still take off pretty decent now its kinda mumbles to 3000 then goes a llil faster and 3rd and 4th just...ugly.

powerband doesnt start until 3k anyway, doesnt pull til 3500. does it go up to redline when driving if you keep flooring it?

lol trust me i am. but im hoping its sum kinda leak like u guys sed so i can see the perfomance i shuld be seeing.

if it is how to i fix it? or would u need a pic of where the leak is coming from.

also ive notice my hose's near passenger side of the car in the back of the engine get watery on the outside. like water in a bubble form as if it were on a water bottle...

I noticed, and some of my friends mustangs its the same way, if you just punch it, it seems to flood the engine and not accel as quick but if you give it 60-70% off the line it will take off the quickest... Just a thought

thats condensation from the a/c being on, you know, the same as when it was dripping on you...

there isnt anything serious wrong with your car if you dont throw any airt temp. or metering codes, and if there is a leak at this point, it is small or you would have a fluctuating and erratic idle, not be able to reach the upper rpm range...

i bet your FL or wherever heat is just dogging the car

i think that might be its...its hot as fuck....and i iced the intake and intake manifold the other day and it ran good....it might be this shitty heat but im gunna check it out now just incase

if the engine has been on in the past hour or so in summer heat, anything that carries a flui or is metal around the engine will be hot.

reasoning behind this is you are spinning if you floor it with the skinny street tires. my car takes off quickest when i give it as much throttle as possible without breaking loose the tires. even at the track, i cant foot brake drop it or i spin. i just have to let off the brake and feather into the gas (auto tranny), and that is the main reason my 60' sucks
