2 Questions (Brakes and Sluggish Performance)

my brakes get my front rims dirty VERY FAST. and i hate it.
my dad suggested getting new disc and pads and that he'd help me do it and that the pads n disc would cost me about $100 for all four i think or the front 2 not sure.

does anyone know a different solution or have a brake disc or pads that u'd recommned?
thnks

second question
my car i feel like its slagging or lackin it full preformance...does anyone have a suggestion why it might seem like that? or something i can do that might help it out? cuz when i floor it, it just doesnt seem like it used to be? and ive added exhaust and intake...or not that its not faster but just seems lik it should be a lil faster..
anyway any suggestions? maybe sumthin to clean or w/e?

Hawk pads or another aftermarket minor dust pad will cure your dirty issue. I just clean my car when it gets dirt though...

for the power slump, your wheels are probably heavier than stock being 17x9 as opposed to 15or16x8 that came factory options. are you throwing any CEL codes? maybe you just need some mods to be faster?

lol i know but it gets dirtier alot faster then it should. w/e im replacing the pads and disc so that should deffinitily help.

as for the CEL:
that light doesnt come on, it does come up when i turn the car on for a moment as well as many others but then quickly goes away along with the others.

could my IAC have anythin to do with it. its never been cleaned before...

old pads dont get dirtier faster.

if the light doesnt stay on or blink, nothing is sensed out of ordinary.

probably not.

the oil only has couple houndred miles on it. the air filter is maybe a month old, and its sort of like a K&N filter...
how often should i add gear oil...im getting gears soon so i'll do it then

as far as the fuel filter it has 12,000miles on it as well as the spark plugs
pcv filter?

depends what plugs they went from and to. copper autolite or ngk are good plugs.

read through the list of what to do when to find the answers to your other Q's. you may find that you missed something critical that needs to be checked...

i think when its time to check my oil i'll go to mobil and just have them do a full check on the car ans see what needs to be done. the spark plugs and gas filter arent to expensive so i'll change that in about 1k miles

sluggish, especially if you give it full throttle and it falls on its face, usually somewhere, be it intake manofold or somewhere in the air intake region, there is usually some sort of leak of air or vaccuum loss... thats what happened when i blew out the gasket in my upper intake manifold.

if you have a leak, spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner around the intake manifold and vaccuum lines and if your idle surges, you found the leak
