Mustang has aftermarket exhaust, and the GTP is all stock.

http://www.engine-power.com/pontiac/grand_prix_gtp.html

260 hp! thats a GT's race...not a v6

0-60 2 seconds faster then a v6
15s in the 1/4
i think the 97's ran mid or high 16's in the 1/4...
the grand prix for sure then

mild is no internal engine work like cam..., just bolt ons like gears, full exhaust, tune, etc.

Are you sure about that? Stock GTPs with a bad driver that can barely reach the pedals will run high 14s.....at least 2000 model year GTPs. I know of a GTP with a pulley and drag radials that is in the 12s.

i ran a gtp at the track and beat it by a second.

it was the same body style as a 2000, but not sure on the year ranges of the motors and all.

i found that 200 gtp coupe had:
3.8L 240 hp V6
240 @ 5200 RPM
280 @ 3600 RPM

thats is good power, but they are heavy too at 3500 lbs. they stock ran a 0-60 in 6.8 seconds, 15.4@ 94.6 mph. which is a fast speed for that time. i trap 93-94 on my setup, and run mid-high 14s. now, i didnt beat the guy i race against by running a 14.4 b/c at the time, i was running 14.8-9s... but a v6 with 4.10s could run that time, with bolt ons, better. i ran a 15.3 before 4.10s...

Pay no attention to magazine tests as they are all flawed. A stock Mustang GT in 1988 ran high 14s in all magazine tests. My 88 GT ran 13.9 with the only modification being a shifter. There is a Grand Prix club in Wisconsin. I've seen more than one stock GTP run high 14s and like I said there is one with a pulley and drag radials in the 12s.

great drivers, i suppose. i have ran stock 96-98 gt mustangs and beat them in the 1/4. same with stock 87-93 5.0s

i guess track prep and location has a lot to do with it

i can beat stock 5.0, 96-98 4.6 GT, and run with stock 99-04 4.6 at the track all day. the 5.0 is a torque monster over the 3.8, but i get them up top. i didnt race any gt mustangs until i got 4.10s, but i can run them now.
