Clutch / Engine

Okay I've got two noises I'm getting concerned about.
1. Squeky clutch pedal like friction/ resistance.
2. Just after the engine starts, it sounds like scratching or high pitched squek. I tried soap and water on the main belt and it didn't do anything.

Just looking for some ideas that might help
thanks

Check your Idler pulley and your tensioner pulley for any play in the bearings or even change them out, they're cheap though. As for the sqeeky clutch, does it only make noise when the clutch pedal is totally let out? Does it stop when you push the clutch all the way in? If so then your problem is that you need a new throw out bearing. Let me know if this helps you any.

Havent had a chance to try the tensioner and idler but as for the specifics on the clutch noise it happens about half way to the floor board when i push it in, does not matter if the car is on or off.

Being that your clutch pedal sqeaks while the car is not running too then I would say check your linkagae and make sure it doesn't need to be greased, if that isn't it then you prolly need a new clutch that comes with a new throwout bearing and clutch fork.

Does the scratching noise happen while you are starting the car and then get louder when the car first turns on? If so it might be your starter. Mine is getting warped because my mechanic had to take if off so much to change my factory clutch, got tired of blowing my clutch and finally got a ram clutch.
