More Power

I don't know too much about cars so maybe you could help. I recently purchased a '99 V6 mustang. I was wanting to know what I could do to increase its power without spending an arm and a leg. I also want to get dual exhaust and i was wondering which brand would give a loud aggressive sound. Any help would be great.

check out what i have done...

for exhaust, mac long tube headers, mac off road shorty H pipe, and mac gt cat back will give the best sound.

top that off with one of those 207/215 grind cams from RPM-Mustangs and you will have a decent sound.

+1, a lopey idle and higher rev with a performance cam would be a great addition

My dad was checking out my car today, and he said that I pretty much already had headers, he said they were as close to headers as you can get without having actually headers. If so, would adding headers add much extra horsepower/better sound then whatever it is I'm running now? My brother has Flowmaster 40's on his mustang and I want a louder more aggressive sound than his, I was in a friends car last week and he had just installed a new set of SLP loudmouths, I really liked the sound of those, would it be worth converting mine to duals?

yeah, all cars have headers

loudmouths on a v6 is shitty, loud and annoying.

if you have "headers" can you take a pic of them so i can tell you if they are stock cast iron, aftermarket shorties, or long tubes? you should know what you have so you can figure out what else can be done...

I just finished reading the article you posted on installing the exhaust sytem. Did you ever get a camera for a sound/video clip? Would you reccomend that set up for my car?

yeah, videos in the Video section in the user vid. sticky post under AtlanticBlue99, also on youtube.

i would recommend mac long tubes, mac off road short H pipe, and mac catback over my setup due to ease of installment and compatability
