wide open throttle hesitationp0455 His ABS light is also on, that light might be from the dealership fucking it up though, he had a starting problem not to long ago, ended up taking it to the dealership and they ripped out the aftermarket security system that was killing the car everytime he tried to start, well in the process they thought his fog light wires were part of the theft, ripped those out, his left turn directional inside the car is always on, radio is off when car is in park, turns on when you shift into any other gear, and could turn on by itself when you turn the headlights on, also his traction control indicator light that tells you if its on or off is always on now, dealership did all that, but yeah, any ideas as to why he has a bad hesitation?? no seafoam already done that.......

uhh go kick some ass at the dealer ship till they fix his car, dont let hack mechanics do that stuff, if they just started ripping wires that could have done it, also an auto will hesitate a bit if it is more than like half a second check fluid level in the tranny, and get a new air filter

when does the hesitation start? what rpm?
could be TPS or MAF sensor reading badly or needs to be cleaned an isnt reading correctly making a bad a/f reading give me a min to check out the code

An evap problem WILL NOT cause hesitation. its tranny related IMO or its normal and he is just nit picking. I have been running my escort with en evap code for like 5 years and it just died this past week from an unrelated mechanical failure.
PS> Bad gas cap commonly causes this.

All the evap system does is recirculate fuel vapors to the intake.

could have a dirty maf as well. but thats definitly an evap code. Detects a leak in the system (cannot pressurize its self) most commonly caused by a faulty canister purge valve or a bad, lose or uninstaller gas cap.

and some places will charge and say they had to replace a hose blah blah lol little does the customer know the just turn the gas cap 4 clicks over. drove the car and spent 1min on it my opinion MAF 02 sensor probably running a on a safe more or defulting to it if the MAF sensor is dirty causing it to be rich and hesitate lean wont really do it

idt the hesitation is code related an evap leak code wouldnt cause that, i wanna heaar how bad the hesitation is before I assume

it really sucks, like way over half a second, probably close to 2 or 3 seconds of hesitation with WOT. he says he is going to take it back to the dealship to fix all the other shit they messed up, but i think he called them and they said that they were gonna have to charge him again or something, idk imma get the full story on that, but im hopping low fluid lvl in the tranny is our ticket, imma check that now and be back here around 6. thanx guys, keep checking this post. imma update till its over.

yeah if dealership doesnt fix it for free give ford customer service a call on the service desk phones they usually take care of things. but it sounds like low fluid

okay, the day after i posted this, my friend was going by a place called strawberry chapel, well the road ended but it didnt end in his head, he went off the road a little ways and ended up taking the front bumper off, lost a headlight, he has awesome insurance though so theyre paying for it. soon as it gets fixed from that little mess, if its still doing the hesitation imma check the fluid.
