My M112 / V6 Mustang

Hey, I'm new to this site and I'm always looking for ways to make my pony faster. I wanted to share a couple images of my 2002 v6 Mustang with an 03 Cobra supercharger on it. The setup is a prototype of my own design. It generates 6.5psi of boost with a 25% UD crank pulley and the stock 3.55 Cobra pulley. During the dyno tune, ambient temp was 93* and the Eaton was generating ~5.5psi, it put out 261hp/282tq to the wheels on a dynojet wheel dyno. There is currently no innercooler. The engine is totally stock. Enjoy

wow one of the few 6's on here that is s/c....the s/c looks huge though. is that the only mod u have on it aside from the UD pulley?
things to make it faster...if u dont have an exhaust i'd suggest one fast. along with H or X pipe and long tubes...should get you a lil over 20hp with the the whole thing. since u got a s/c why not get CAI and throttle body
also gear and t-loc would be good too!(i hope it already has at least t-loc with that s/c if not uve deffinitly got shitty traction.
we need to know what you have first...
if you already have full bolt on's get cam, it'll give u a good amount of hp
and also add ported heads and cams

but with 261hp i dont think uve got full bolt on's

Most of it fits inside the GT scoop, but there are two places that still rub slightly on the hood. Nothing big, and I'll be fixing that this winter. I do have a GT exhaust system, but I believe it's being rather restrictive.

nice setup dude, and welcome to ModdedMustangs. I heard about a few people reconfiging the 03/04 eaton to fit the split port upper intake. Do you have any build process pics or anything?

BTW, get a 2" cowl hood and it will fit like factory in there, looks great and you can definitely get a lot more out of it with a better flowing exhaust and more boost. You can go up to 8psi safely easily on the essex block

welcome to moddedmustangs, i'm pretty sure i saw some of the buildup over on V6P and even linked a few of your pictures in some other threads here when people asked about using roots style blowers other than the M90. can you post up some info on your custom manifold?

Thanks for the greeting. I don't mind answering the basic questions about my setup, but I won't get into measurements and specs. This install is primarily a starting point to a better design. Once I get things hammered out, I'll expore the possibility of offering kits. But nothing is for sure now. I should say a couple things: 1. It's not just an intake that makes this work. I've modified (and still modifing) a lot of things under the hood. 2. It's not a cheap alternative to the other FI setups out there. I've spent ~$3k so far. That wouldn't include my labor and fuel, and the fact that there's no innercooling yet.

why didnt you just go with the procharger set up for $3k-4k, im sure it woulda been alot easier to install and the one at VMP has everythin u need not to mention u'd have 11psi about rather then 6.5, plus the procharger has a better top end power.
do you have and videos of your car. i'd be intrested in watching them!

I looked at all the available systems. VMP Procharger setup was something I concidered. But I wanted something challenging and unique, not the fastest. Plus I drive a lot. As good as the other setup are, I would have to do maintanance on them every year. The Eatons are built to be basicly maintanance free for 150k miles. All you do is check the gear oil every 15k miles. There's some vids here:

understood, how does your kit differ from the speedkillz kit or sprouts project?

yeah the M112's have incredible whine, but the cool thing is, that this is one of the first steps to using a Kenne Bell!

I do not have a kit. I don't know what others are doing with an m112 install. I lost touch with others' projects when I saw nothing being made after 3+ years of talk. At first I was very interested in the speedkills project. I even offered to help. But they declined. That's when I started my project. What I have is nothing great. But it's a working prototype from where I plan to improve upon.

That's the plan.

Seriously that is one interesting setup. I do like how you can see the pulley stickin out the top. Gives it a mean look to it. I'm really interested in seein the progress of this setup. Def keep us posted. Welcome to MM.

i saw the video....first thing i gotta say before any mod, T-LOC. with a s/c and 282rwtq...you cant be doing one wheel runs. you can but talk about shitty traction..u can launch at idle then floor it and still peel out.
also i know u can do a better donut then that

otherwise, i love the sound, and nice exhaust, wierdest dyno vid ive seen yet. on your 105+ run i couldnt see how fast you shot up but im sure it wasnt slow either

Yep, a Detroit locker or 8.8 is in the future. That burnout/doughnut was with my old, badly worn Eagles that were egg shaped. They wheel hopped at any speed and were uncontrolable. My new UHP Generals have been grabbing very well.

Yeah wheel hop owned you in that burnout Sick assed car though I dig it. I bet people's eyes really pop out when they see that 112 bolted to a lil ole split port!

you are gonna want a 8.8" rear with 3.73s or you will break the 7.5 if you up the boost or do the rest of the bolt ons
