Not Burning Rubber

Can anyone tell me, should I expect my new 2006 V6 Mustang to break the rear wheels loose when I accelerate hard? It's an automatic transmission and even though it's got good acceleration, the tires don't even squeal when I pull away from a stop. I just assmumed it would.

turn traction control off. Also you will only spin one tire. More than likely the passenger right side rear tire. You need a tloc to spin both.

if you have t-loc and no other mods, i'd imagine it'd b pretty hard to peel in auto. unless u rev in nuetral then throw it in drive with out hurting ur car or in D1.
what kinda burn out are you tryin to do...if u want a long peel out while stopping floor it and hit the brakes...(not the ebrake) and dont press the brakes late...maybe floor it and catch about 10ft or less and hit the brakes while keeping it floored

About the only way you are gonna get a stock auto V6 rear wheels loose is to power brake or drag launch by power breaking(with trak loc off) the wheels up to the point where they are trying to break loose and releasing the brake pedal as you floor the gas.

yep traction control will keep you from doing a burnout. my dad has an 05 gt its hard for him to chirp the tires with traction control on.

i can slam the gas and peel out from a stop, but i have 4.10s and a tlok, which help in the acceleration aspect... i couldnt do it before the gears without powerbraking or brakestanding

i couldnt stock, but i guess it also depends on road conditions and tires. i had 315's before i started doing shit with my car for the most part. could never do it with stock gearing without being on the brake

i had a rental too, i like the stock system it comes with on the door...also theres some kinda setting you can put for the music where as u go faster the music gets louder. its nice.
as far as the traction lock i didnt se it on the car or pay attention. i did try a lil drift with the e-brake though
