My M90 V6 Setup

Hey Guys,
I was just reading the post about the guy with the Eaton m112 on his car. I am aware of just how much work that involves, and props man!! I finished my engine about a year ago. I'm running 10psi with my m90 and a FMIC, 3.73 gears on an 8.8 rear, 42lb injectors, sct pro racer package, laptop installed for wideband 02 and datalogging, all forged internals, and a ton of other stuff. My latest mod was an automatic tranny to a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual conversion, with a spec stage 3 clutch.
As of now, I have no problem beating a stock fox body 5.0, though I don't have any official numbers yet. I'm working on getting some. I would have had some by now, but I totaled the car last October. GRRR, so, I had to have the frame straightened and the radiator mount (basically the front half of the frame) replaced. Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Scott

I see you went with a custom blower top and a front mount IC.

Thanks, The FMIC was one of the best things I have done to it. I definately recommend that. But, that blower top was really hard to make, especially since I was new to welding aluminum and I was using a Mig shielded with 100% argon. If only I could afford a tig.

very nice setup. a lot of people can slap in a thunderbird s/c motor, but i love the work you did to yours. props on the rear swap and tranny too. i know you dont have numbers, how much power do you expect to make at 10psi?

How much did that 6 speed swap set you back? I have been contemplating trying it, but have no clue where to start.

I'm pretty sure I'm around 300hp. I was able to take a stock 5.0 fox body pretty easily. But, my car is a lot heavier.

I bought the t-56 from ford racing for $2200 (it's for a 94-95 5.0). Then, I needed a 157-tooth aluminum flywheel (I don't remember the prices). I bought a spec stage 3 clutch kit (I think it was around $300). The cable, firewall adjuster, clutch fork, dust cover, and some bolts were around $150 all together. The clutch pedal assembly was used from a fox body 5.0 (which I modified to fit my car) was $50. Shortening the driveshaft was $150 with new spicer u-joints. I then flashed the computer with SCT's Pro Racer Package and the X-Cal 1. I also had to modify the rear tranny mount by welding new brackets onto the body, and a few other small modifications. Oh yeah, the shifter handle, knob, and boot was about $70 all together. It looks like it cost me arount $3k. But, it should last a long time.

I used one I found on ebay. It was new, and an upgrade for an Evo. It's about 24" wide by 12" tall by 3.5"thick with 2.5" openings. I paid between $150 and $300 for it.

That looks really good. It's how mine used to be. I planned on keeping it that way too, until I totaled the car. I had to get a new hood, fenders, and bumper anyway, and aftermarket was cheaper than factory.

AB can beat a stock 5.0 pretty easily, he runs with or just barly below pre 2005 GT's (mid-high 14's, he's got a blue split port with a tune, gears, T-lok, and full no cats exhaust) and you should be faster than him

I feel like a bit of a jerk for critisizing such an amazing car, but aren't you sucking in a hot air with your current intake set up? Maybe you have it for looks or what ever reason, but if it were me I would try take in cold air from outside the engine compartment, especially on a boosted car. Agian, your car is amazing and if you know about this and like the way it is then that fine by me.

any split port with bolt ons and gears can beat stock 99-04 gt's. i have "heard" of gt's 99-04 running a 14 flat stock, but it must be in a sea level 50* ambient track prepped out the hell. they run 14.7-14.9 here in east central ga, west central sc.

i have beaten numerous stock 5.0s and 96-98 gt's, and have beaten a few stock 99-04 gt's, but when they have a 5 speed with drag radials, they can launch and rape me off the line. look at my old timeslips and notice my shitty 60' but how i bring it up in the 1/4. my auto tranny and street tires/4.10s combo spins off the line easily.

well 96-98 GTs arent the fastest things out there. they really are sadly underpowered...i'd say VERY underpowered to. its sad.
