no

edit: I take that back... depends on how desperate you are... you can adjust your cam positioner sensor so your car thinks the cam is in a different spot and this adjusts that timing... of course it does this in a very harmful way

actually YES there is
you can advance the timing on your cam or retard it

so the answer is YES it is possible to ADJUST timing without a tuner

well first off its MUCH MUCH MUCH more common then using a tuner. infact any v8 motor you buy you will have that option
any engine you rebuild you have to adjust timing!
its VERY easy if you know what to do and VERY easy not to screw up
and ask any carb setup guy how he adjust his timing. aside from saying his distributor he'll say a cam. you say well why not a tuner...him-->umm what?
yes i know we're not carb'd but your making it seem like my idea is rediculous and its more benifical then a tuner
and REQUIRED with any CAM Install
and there is are timing marks and about scale that reads -10 to 0 to +10
its as easy as turning a wrench

but i guess we could just throw in a cam and only adjust timing with the tuner! that'll work super great?

hmm looks like false information a little in my eyes

im not saying ur idea is ridiculous im saying its not a very safe way for a person to do it unless he has experience in the subject which buy the OP its clear he does not. its also not as simple as a tuner like we all agree.

dude obviously if your changing your cam you set up accordingly, Like i said before he just wants to adjust the timing. as far as we all know there isnt a cam swap. like i said for his situation a tuner is a good idea the other methods are not practicle for him and or dangerous to his motor.

well in that case putting a tuner in someones hands that doesnt know what -6 spark means or +9 they might say oh hey 9hp!

but the question was if there was a way to do it without and tuner none the less the question wasnt answered correctly and im pretty sure you went back in edited your post too

no post was edited. OMZ was the first to say yes it was possible. No your not getting to me. not every one is such the pro at cam tuning like torres is so like i stated before tuner is his best option. unless he has the know how for the other 2 methods and wants to do it. NO i wouldnt know adjust timing via cam but if i looked into it who are you to say i couldnt?
