Who Would Win, Stock 2000 Mustang Convt Or 2001 Impala?

Im thinking about raing my buddy this week, and debating on if cash should be involved. I have a 2000 Mustang Convertable V6 3.7, and he has a 2001 Impala V6 3.8. Would it be wise for me to put cash in on here? I havent done anything to my car, for no cash to waste yet lol, he has a full body kit and duel exhaust. Lokin for some imput, thanks.

First off welcome to MM. Second the mustang you drive has a 3.8 liter split port motor not a 3.7. Third if you are a decent driver you will have no problems with his Impala.

Cool, would you advise i put duel exhaust on my car? It would be either duel glasspacks or duel magmaflows. Ive heard a few say yea itll sound good and such, but my uncle said itll sound like crap cuz its only a v6. Want some opionoins befor i spend the few hundred.

Stay away from glasspacks. Magnaflows too. Flowmaster and longtubes with an H-pipe is the way to go.

3.8 is an even fire motor which tends to sound ricey anyways, with duals, glasspacks and magnaflows tend to amplify that imo

The right body kit will not look bad. IMO though I would look around the site here and research going the performance route. In the long run you be happier this way. Fast will beat beautiful any day of the week.

if you have a few hundred to spend, get gears. and magnaflows may sound bad, but outperform flowmasters and any other muffler on the market on the v6

as i have been behind the wheel of both vehicles before, and the v6 mustang would win, the mustang is RWD the impala is FWD, just to add the base model impala is actually a 3.4L and the LS is the 3.8L. I also want to say in the 2001 impala model the rev limiter was still set higher but in the later models like 03+ they restricted it to the point of not being able to burnout any more.
