why? it all depends on what you trap in the 1/4. if they made a 4.30 for the 7.5" i would rather have it since i get into 3rd and am at about 4200-4300 rpms in the trap. you want to trap in the top of your second highest gear... unless you worry about the economy of highway driving, which sucks with 4.10s

Oh me and Chris (ab) Have agreed to disagree on that one. He pokes fun at me and I give it back. It really dpends on what you want to go with. Everyone will have a different opinion. I say take what you hear from everyone and go with what you believe to be the best advice. research twice, install once. Research once, install twice.

Well, Chris most people these days especially with V6 mustangs ARE worried about hwy mileage. Thats why they have a V6 and not a GT. I am not saying no to 4.10 I am just saying no to them in a v6 mustang with a man. trans.. I run 4.10's in my race car but my highway car has 3.73.

i agree here. everyone has different goals with the car. if it is driven on the highway very often, you may not want 4.10s because of 1) droning exhaust above 55mph no matter what, 2) horrible fuel economy, and 3) you dont need a tall ratio for highway driving. highways driving is about cruising speeds and cruising speeds are about 70mph or so, and stock, i turned 2100rpms at 70, now i turn 3k at 70

if you dont mind filling up the tank a lot, 4.10s may be what you want. but when i travel a few hours on the interstate, i wish i had 3.27s or better yet, 2.73

The usual setup most use with the auto is 4.10. If mine were auto I would go with 4.10

probably. if you dont see a lot of track time, or if you dont mind sacrificing a little of the accleration, 3.73s may be a more streetable gear then 4.10s, but it all comes down to what you want out of the car

you just talked yourself into a 3.73:1 ratio, regardless of what acceleration you want
