Exhaust For My 2000 V6 3.8L Stang

hey im looking to buy an exhaust for my 2000 mustang v6 3.8L and im wondering which one to buy without having my car sound like a rice burner or having it be loud an annoying ...im just looking for a deep rich sound without it being too loud all the time and somethin that will boos t my cars horsepower and performance up a bit....i dont know much about exhausts but if you could comment me back on either an H pipe or an X pipe or a catback kit or a flowmaster kit it would help me out alot thanks

pick what sound u like
really no difference in hp, magnoflow has the most power but for 1-3hp just pick the best sounding.
MAC or Flowmaster 40's id say sound best

recommended set up(dont have to jus a recomendation)
mac long tubes
mac cat
mac H pipe

theres been so many post about this, but ur new so its understandable. u'll love the site.

same exact as your but black
i dont have much done, i wasted 3k putting on and taking off a body kit. if it werent for that i'd have all my bolt ons cams and heads by now.
but instead ive got

flowmaster 40's exhaust
CAI off ebay(racing options i believe its called or flipped around)
and 17x9in rims with sumi's on it

u can clikc on the thing under my pic where it says 2000 mustang v6 as well as other peoples to see their ride and mods

but i order film to put over my rear lights today which should come soon.
also i plan on getting a flasher and UD pulley soon

but if i were you, if u wana get exhaust first, save til u have money for the long tubes, h pipe and mufflers. probably give 25 hp all together about.
which u'll like and love the sound.
then i'd get t-loc(traction lock) so both your wheels spin
along with a set of 3.73's for 5speed or 4.10 gears for auto, it''ll make a huge difference
after that throw in Cold Air Intake
an ASP underdrive pulley and SCT XCAL2 flasher
that'll clear your bolt on's stage.
and give u enough speed to run with the GT's and beat some.

ohh some thick tires and rims too.

these are only suggestions, u dont have to do it. if you want throw in a supercharger first hand...but these smaller steps i'd say will prepare you for the s/c and u'll like them

well i got mine at an exhaust shop about 45 min away from my house. i'd say to do that. although my long tubes wont fit perfect with my set up it will work just be more difficult.
it costed me 350 for the installing and mufflers. the shop did it all for 350.
and it sounds great.
you can buy the whole mac set up and with a buddy do it all in a days work or less. shit u can even get flowmaster 40's off line, buy the pipes to fit it and long tubes.
but if your not sure what ur doing go to a muffler shop.
u can look for it in the yellow pages probably

the mac you can get the full ehxuast but not with the long tubes.
u'd have to buy it all seperatly.
best shot is callin an exhaust shop and seeing if they have flowmaster.
then ask if they can put dual flowmaster in your car with and H pipe and long tubes.
and tell them u can provide the long tubes, cuz they probably wont have it. and if they say yes, but dont have the H pipe then ud have to buy that

or do what im doing. let them fabricate the pipes to fit the long tubes and have true dual exhaust witht he flowmaster 40s

if u need a site on all the products i can get those on hear too

long tubes is almost the same as short tubes. but short tubes will give u half the hp of long tubes
short tubes-10hp
long tubes-20hp
i almost got short tubes but ive got my mind set on long tubes. short tubes arent gunna be worth it

here are some helpful sites

long tubes and short:
http://rpm-mustangs.com/cart/home.php?cat=333
heres long tube header install if the shop wont do it, (thnks to AB):
http://www.moddedmustangs.com/ford-m...r-install.html

UD pulley install:
http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/pulley.htm

gears:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/00-200...ars---00-.html

many mustang performance parts:
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/newv6m.htm

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2000-m...-v6-parts.html

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php?

those are all under my favorites. i'd do the same for future help

well the one in the video didnt have long tubes, so urs will sound better actually lol

long tubes is $260
flowmaster mufflers will be i guess around $100-$150 for both, not each. i dont know where to get them tho, google it.
h pipe-$160
install i'd say $200-$300
so about $500 on the exhaust and $700 all together or $800 tops about

but i'd see if the exhaust shop has the fflowmasters, it'll be cheaper trust me
if you do it like that the flowmaster and true daul will be $300-$400 with instalation. get the long tubes $260 and have them install it with the exhaust i'd say you save about $100
