Picked her up yesterday! One beautiful machine. Black on Black, with interior upgrades. Sales guy was very nice, and gave it for invoice! They got us on the warrantys and extras though haha. Pics soon!

Aye

I plan on putting an exhaust on it, along with getting it tuned with a CAI. Cheap mods to start, but im sure ill be happier with it. The car is amazing!

I was wondering though, the dealer said it came with Traction Control, but Im not seeing the button to enable/disable it. Not really a big deal, but does anyone know about the 07 models and having T/C equipped? Thanks in advance.

Reading on these boards, I assumed having a custom tune for the car would improve some over the stock tune. I could be wrong

there should be a button near the passener airbag off button, it will say TCS, press it and the words, OFF should show up. traction control slows you down quite a bit.

on the s197, a tune is needed after every mod because of the complex ecu...

i have heard that on any 05 and up year mustang, that because of the drive by wire throttle control that any engine upgrade would require a tune of some sort. but thats just internet reading so you may want to do some research before you start strapping on parts. i know i will. and congrats on the new car.

For every mod you put on the new platform you have to get a tune...Well you dont have to but to get the full potential out fo the mod you should get a tune...

exactly. you may lose power and harm things if you dont tune after each mod on the s197

A muffler is one thing, that actually might not need a tune. Backpressure is a crock. But CAI, saying you don't need a tune? That's not true either. There is at least one on the market saying that, however basically every other one suggest a tune is required.

The air/fuel mixture would be different with a new CAI otherwise, the sensors would not be happy. The tune will not only make the car have proper air/fuel, but your throttle lag will be gone.

Our cars are fly-by-wire (I have an 06 PP V6). Electronically controlled throttle. You'll see. Drive with the car for a couple thousand miles and get used to the feel. When you drop in a new tune... it's an amazing feel honestly. I didn't upgrade until after 4K miles for break in period paranoia

Can't wait to see some pictures though.

Thanks for all the info. Already glad I came here

She currently has 367.8 miles on her. I am SUPER paranoid, this being my first brand new car. I do have a question though: Where can I find touch up paint for a black 07? I want to be prepared in case anything happens. Also, Ive heard many different things and milage I should allow the car to "break in", so is 3-4k a good point to stop babying it? I already love the car, and the way it drives. I cant wait to get it a cai and a tune

Cant wait for 3-4k!

Also, I was told by the dealer that I had trac control equipped, however I cant find the button as where the manual says it should be (above the radio) so im getting the inkling that its actually not there. Is trac control worth the effort to make ford equip it?

hey all, newbie here. I just got my 07 Torch red stang a couple of hours ago! Whoohoo, amazing machine. I had already planned on changing to a dual cat back exhaust and CAI. I did those on my 98 v6 along with some additional cosmetic changes like reverse glow gauges and stuff. Not sure abt the new ones tho. I forgot to ask my dealer if i mod my 07, would it void my warranty? Do you think its advisable to mod if even if its the smallest mod you can think of? Thanks.

the parts you change will be voided and if proven to break other covered parts, will void that warranty. aftermarket exhaust kits are warrantied by manufacture though.

may i suggest an H pipe and real dual catback to get rid of the restrictive Y pipe?

and personalization is what makes the car yours. of course every mod that you want is worth it!
