rpm drop at 70+ mph
ok so say im getting on the highway and theres no one there and go WOT all the way thru 3rd and most of 4th so im doing about 95 100 mph.
from there i go to neutral and my rpm drops all the way to 600 and proceeds to bounce around between 300 and 800 occasionally requiring me to hit the gas to keep it from stalling. once im below 70 its fine and sits at a steady 900 - 1100 rpm. what could be causing this? *edit shifted at 4500 - 5000 if it matters. and it does this every time not just once in a while. |

that's supposed to happen.
when you shift into neutral all your doing is getting air in and not fuel .. your maf is trying to compensate by adjusting rpm.. your basically confusing your MAF when you do that.
