Splines and the drive shaft- bang or hard shift

Don't know where my origional thread went to but here it is again.

at 1 mph before a stop and after a I take my foot off the break to go I get a slight bang or hard shift. I was told a great meny things like a jmod, a shift selonid, a1-3 shift selonid, dry slpines in the drive shaft or something in the differential. I have the 4w70r autimatic tranny on a 2000 v6 convert.

Has anyone experienced this problem? All the suggestions seem plausable but I'm no mechanic. Don't want to get robbed. If I have to do it process of elimination where do I go first, second, third.......

tranny specialist and have it diagnosed, and check your fluid level

check your u joints first before you spend any real money..

Thanks for the above info.

Changed the tranny fluid twice- no metal shavings, real clean. Changed filter twice also.

Is the u joint check an easy one to do?

very easy.

put the car in park and get under the car.

try and turn the drive shaft by hand.
if it has more than a half of inch play in it you need u joints.

put it in first and grab the e brake.

(make sure the car is off obviously)

well doc i'm not a newb and i aint stupid lol.. how would i do that with the car on..
