upshift no
downshift yes, very bad get a shift kit and a B&M hammer shifter and out shift any 5speed out there

downshifting and extensive driving in low gears being an automatic will brun up/wear otu the clutch packs and overruning clutches. put a shift kit in it, put a converter in it, and put it in drive...then hammer on the gas....dont shift it...DONT NEUTRAL DROP EITHER!

if you really want to know what the complete jmod is TCCoA Transmission Article - Index That covers replacing the clutch assembly to putting holes in the valve body. think you have what it takes?
