Which gears should I get for my 99 v6 5 speed.

3.73= 5 speed
4.10= auto

I'd say it depends on what you want, there really is no best gear... just generalizations.

daily driver on highway- 3.73, more city and race oriented or mpg is no effect- 4.10

shit man, everytime i see a post about gears idk what the hell to get. i switch from 3.73 to 4.10s mines a daily driver...so i think im finally just sticking with 3.73

Not to confuse you more but I have 4.10s on my dialy driver 5 speed and love them

plus i wouldnt mind saving a lil gas $$

Sweet, good luck. The ~180 difference in RPM's dont harm gas mileage near as much as you'd think

Well if you're doing FI, 3.73s are definately the way to go.

But if youre not, 4.10s work fine on a daily driver. Its really a matter of personal prefference. I cry a little inside when I see the whole "auto = 4.10 manual 3.73" arguement brought up. I dont see much of a point to that arguement, as a 5 speed can benefit just as much from 4.10's as an automatic can.

well when i get FI i need an 8.8 rear anyway...so i might as well get 3.73's with it
well would there be a huge difference in 3.73 from 4.10 in a 5speed...as far as performance

yeah this is what i wanted to know lol can we get an avg rpm and speed you have to shift per gear?

haha read down the posts. you said it hurts my gas milage and i just alughed and said meh i have a sixer also could be said i have a 4 banger lol better on gas then a v8 or those nasty gas guzzeling v10's
