the piston rings have to expand and seal correctly as well as making sure the bearings seat correctly. that is why the motor must also be broken in just as long as the clutch should/would be

might get pretty serious
most will get painted just so it looks clean
he wanted his upper and lower coated black with a special paint
i got him covered on that

cool just let me know
this motor is gonna be prepped for BIG power

his total came out $5700
thats with ARP main studs
ARP head bolt
pretty much best valve terrain our motors can get
CNC heads
forged rods and pistons
new 4.2L steel crank
.20 over bore
upper and lower intakes with the gaskets
brand new billet cam
and the motor assembled

the cheapest ive found a long block with his parts is $6100 and that doesnt include the ported upper and lower intake which is about a $600-700 value add on

in the end having a motor this strong will be worth it and tons of fun

i recommend him using his current s/c though and having fun with w/e he makes at 9psi then later upgrade to a bigger unit or bigger pulley.
or can just jump the gun to get his high power

but i like upgrading slowly
with 9psi and this motor he should jump to about 380rwhp area for sure

You know he's gonna need a smaller pulley than what he has now to get 9psi again I'm sure.

thats what I thought but it looks steeper than 90 degrees might just be the angle of the pic

That engine looks good. I notice that the main bearing saddles are uniform in color so it probably doesn't need an align hone.

Also the crank and rods look fine. I wondered what you were going to do with them?
I would have liked to have them, though shipping them from Florida to Calif. would be expensive. My engine needs the crank ground 10/10 and one rod will be replaced since it spun a bearing. Also the rod big ends will be honed out 0.002".

The block is going to be align honed, decked, and bored +0.020.

I'm just going with a stock rebuild using an engine kit from RPM machine;.

i already bought a 17# pulley . those pistons look gross. it would be nice if the army wasn't fucking me at the moment. but hopefully i'll get my money so i can get the smaller parts i need. throttle body, maf, LT's, clutch, 62# injectors (DOH), gt 40 fuel pump.

i think it was like 75kish. they suppose to be rusted n shit??

im trying to think of a way to move the S/C inlet downward instead of like right infront of the motor. that location boggles my mind still. but theres these two lines that would be in the way if i pointed it downward. hmm...
