duplicolor a faded beige convert to black

My beige top is faded and I don't have the doe to get a new black cloth top. I was told that I could Duplicolor spray the vinal beige top with their vinal and fabric spray and it will hold. But my question is when the top goes down won't it crack or peel? Has anyone done this before and if your thinking about spraying your top a different color, what have people told you to do.

Thanks
tangbang

it will crack and if it holds up it will wear off in a week due to the elements, get it dyed it is a bit cheaper than new one and black dye is easy

Dyed at an auto body shop. They told me the dye will dry hard and crack. Iwent to the duplicolor web site and they don't mention convert tops but they spray leather seats and say that the spray has adhesives added as well as a non fade element to it and that it is a flexible paint too.

I don't want to screw this up cause than i'll really need a new top.

it will crack when you put the top down and will fade very easily. I would just spend the money on the new top to be honest
