Hate-a-Saurus Newbie Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 41	AC Not Working, Could It Be The Blower Resistor? So I'm going down the street and the AC is kicking, then suddenly stops. I turn the switch and nothing happens at all, no noise, no click, no blower, nothign at all. After a little Googling, I figure it could either be a fuse or the resistor. How would I know if the resistor is bad? I pulled the old one off and it just looks a little rusty. I recently had my heater core go out, maybe some of that coolant crap rusted it up and could have caused it. Much thanks if anyone could let me know if this is my problem. If it's just the resistor I'll get it fixed, but I can't afford to go and buy a part for nothing, and still have no AC.

chrish91286 Regular 2003 Mustang GT Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: chesterfield, VA Posts: 248	if the a/c works for one minute then stops the next you need to check your a/c cycle switch and how much of a charge your system has __________________ 70mm t/b, plenum, cast intake manifold, full magnaflow exhaust, JLT cai, FRPP c springs, anti roll kit, steeda upper control arms, custom tune, subframe connectors, HID headlights, mach 1 chin spoiler

mdvaldosta Maintenance Man 2002 Mustang GT 11.47@120.58 Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Valdosta, GA Posts: 3,943	Use a multimeter to test the switch, or try a new one from a parts store. As long as you don't beat up on the new switch you should be able to take it back if it doesn't work (ask them first).

Hate-a-Saurus Newbie Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 41	it doesn't work at all now. It was working, but then stopped and hasn't shown a sign of life since. I'll check into the switch thing, thanks guys.

mdvaldosta Maintenance Man 2002 Mustang GT 11.47@120.58 Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Valdosta, GA Posts: 3,943	Yes, the fan would still come on (only the clutch wouldn't kick in or air blow cold). If the blower motor doesn't come on at all, then it's likely a fuse, relay, switch, or the motor.
