curious about a tuner

hey guys this is kinda a wierd question but if i was to buy a sct or diablo tuner, would i be able to use it to read codes on other vehicles as well? i know the tunes wont work but im just curious as to whether or not it will read codes from other vehicles (assuming they have obdII ports on them)

SCT stuff will only work on fords. I have great deals on Xcals. PM for info.
I use an autotap reader for non-ford vehicles.
