I wouldnt buy a hammer shifter without a shift kit or doing the jmod yourself
also you could look into buying a new valve body with the modifications already done for you

a j-mod and a shift kit are essentially the same thing, except a j-mod was created by Ford engineer. They both just make the transmission shift hard by increasing fluid pressure and they also have stronger parts too.

a shift kit is essentially new springs a few holes shit like that
a complete jmod deals with the gears, synchros, input shaft and the valve body.

all shift kits have new valve bodies thats what increases the pressure, you can get just a jmod valve body, but the springs, bearings ect, wont hold up to the incresed stress of down shifting, if your getting a hammer shifter you need a shift kit
