a decent price...no...
stick with auto. or the cheapest thing to do is sell ur car then buy a 5 speed..

4.10's gear..is a good mod and t-lok
if you plan on getting a s/c or turbo go with 3.73's

but also if you plan on getting s/c or turbo you might as well just get an 8.8 rear axle then get 3.73's(8.8 has t-loc already)

ahh chris... in some cases autos can be faster than manuels, one of them being the 05s-07. So the 5 speed swap would be meaningless. I mean my 4 speed auto is faster than my friends 5 speed and we have the same v6's and he has a flowmaster.

But a beefed up and tuned auto has somethign a 5 speed doesn't. Consitency, less room for error. Manuals really only get the edge in open track, autoX, drift, so on and so on. It's drag where an auto can surprise you.

i never said and auto wasnt faster or slower then a manual transmission car.

he asked where he could swap one...i gave advice. in my opinion it really isnt worth it

my friend has an eclipse and went to a cheapo place to get manual instead of automatic. and it just didnt drive like a normal manual transmission car...and it still costed $1300. so now think $1,300 for what?! he didnt get any looks, 0hp and 0 tq........then he sold the car a month later and bought another pile of shit integra..blew up in a week

just stick with the automatic transmission, it isnt at all worth the trouble of selling your car, then buying a new one, nor is it worht swapping the transmission.
save the money for engine mods or something. just cause its automatic doesnt mean it wont be fast.

In some cases a 5speed is faster if you know how to shift. Personally no matter the cost i would swap it out for a 5speed just because i like to shift gears and i feel like it puts me more in control of the car. I will never own another auto trans. My stang has a 5speed and i love it. Its basically just a personal preference though. but if you look at the guys that have big hemi cars, most of them are auto and you would have to have some serious hp to beat one. Just my opinion though.

you'd pay over $1,000 just so you can move your hand back and forth...

basically just next time buy a manual. not much else to say

let me put in my opinion. an 05 mustang is nearly new, maybe a 1 yr trade in. why didnt you buy the car you wanted- a 5-speed? you can buy a 5 speed cheaper than an auto stock for stock, now you are paying to have a cheaper car...

but yes, it can be done.

real mods except intake,header,exhaust,chip:

intake- thats not a real mod if it is a cai, they are very cheap. but intake manifolds (porting/polishing) is another story

header- headers are a good flow mod, but you could always buy an offroad midpipe and a cat back to get some power.

exhaust- hmm, you dont even want exhaust?

chip- any performance mod on the newly high-tech designed s197 mustang will require a tune.

looks like with your selection you are stuck with wheels and stickers. maybe you would go for gears- but probably not since you would require a tune

Ummm, your joking right? You sure about this? This is not humanly possible for the same car to have a 15k price difference.

I'm thinkin bout doin the auto to manual swap. It would be cheaper than just buying a 5 speed unless if I bought a fox body or another older sixer.

if your tryin to be funny....your laugh will stop here cause my car is manual...ever since i was 16 ive had manual... soo yea i have and DO own a 5speed...i like it 10x more then auto doesnt mean i'd ever swap it though if i had auto.

and for the guy who start this thread and sed it'd be 15k more for 5speed...idk if you were drunk when you heard that but there no way in hell a dealership would ever say that...maybe ferrari. but never ford
