Did you guys do this while you were racing? How did it happen. I know you were gonna race again. BTW why do you think diesel has a t-lok? I know you keep saying he does, but unless he put one on...he doesn't.

if both your tires spin you need to make sure you dont have an 8.8 or t-lok installed you need to figure out what is in your car and then we can tell you what to fix

oh btw my guess is burnt up or low gear oil, which makes me think the guy who had your car before did a ghetto t-lok and gear install.

Diesel
show a picture of the rear
im highly doubting you have a posi or 8.8
a stock V6 will not tear up spider gears unless your doing something rediculous. shit it took me over 300rwhp to break my posi with drag tires at a track

let alone 160rwhp or less since its auto, street tires on the street.

if the driveshaft was broken the car wouldn't be making a popping noise when turning
it wouldn't be turning at all lol
due to the lack of forward movement

The V6 Mustang comes with a 7.5 which is not a limited slip differential. I believe by t-lok you mean limited slip. The 8.8 is limited slip, which means there are clutches that limit the relative motion between the two drive shafts. Popping noises sound like problems with the clutches if you have t-lok in this car. If it's a 7.5 then it's probably the gears in the carrier (same as spider gears I think.)

It is possible to remove the differential gear carrier and replace the carrier gears, bearings etc. It is necessary when you put it back to be sure that the ring and pinion gear remain properly aligned. It might be posible to install a used gear carrier to fix the problem. (I would transfer the ring gear you have.) A new ring and pinion set is expensive; however, if you reuse the original ring and pinion with other new parts you may increase axle whine.

I'm not sure where to buy the gears. Probably from Ford.

I would recommend that you remove the gear carrier and replace all 4 of the gears with new ones (there are 4 gears, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal, in mesh with each other). In removing the gear carrier carefully note the number and position of shims so you can get the gear carrier back in the same place. Then the ring and pinion adjustment should still be about right. You might also replace the bearings on the gear carrier if they are worn.

That should get your car running again.
