I should be at a few FFW events, and probably will get to Mason Dixon or Cecil County once or twice throughout the year.
What kind of times you putting down?
your car isn't a white 06 pony package with black stripes is it?

Thanks. Yes, I was racing last year on the stocker wheels and running MT ET Street DR's 255/50/16 down to about 15 psi and the 215's up front overinflated by about 5 psi.

There is a mod list on my website you can check out.

The basics to running high 11's using a minimalist approach:
1) PH turbo set at 13lbs
2) DR's
3) lower control arms
4) Diablo MAFia
5) A good tune
6) tlok/gears

All the other stuff is window dressing, and some of the other mods done were simply me trying to squeeze out a few more ponies.

All this was done on the stock block as well, and with a safe tune you would be able to duplicate those runs. Stock converter too, I was only footbraking to 1800 rpms.

It was with the 4.0 V6 using turbo w/ 13lbs of boost + 75 shot on stock block, stock converter. All turbo @ 13lbs was high 11's.

5.4 4v build should be done in about 2 weeks, and ET's will follow.

nice, you blowing the block is the reason ford should have just stroked out the 3.8l

I blew the block simply from being greedy and chasing ET's. Nobody knew what the threshold of a stock block 4.0 was, so I wanted to find out.
The 4.0 is pretty stout, but suffer from the same weak pistons as its 4.6 3V brother. I was pushing 500rwhp and well over 500 tq with the 75 shot on, so we knew we were on borrowed time, even with a proper tune. Heat soak played a part as I was doing a FFW True Street event when it happened. For those that aren't aware of this event, it is basically a 30 mile cruise followed by 3 back to back passes. Historically I had always cooled down between runs, so it may have held together longer if I didn't stress it out.
In my opinion the engine is capable of handling high 11's very reliably, which is good enough for the majority of folks.

oh no Im not bashing the block at all but the 3.8 bottom end was a monster IMO the re-engineering of the block was stupid from ford since they had such a stout platform already

and maybe they thought since it was german engineered then it would be like a bmw?

The 4.0 engine is called the Cologne and has seen many iterations.

I am fairly sure that the 3.5 Duratec is going to be the next version taking over for the 4.0 come 2010.
