turbo kit from scratch

How much money would a person be looking at if they built a single turbo kit from scratch if they did all the cutting/welding themselves and install? couldnt be much over 2k would it?

shouldn't be... depends on your turbo and how precise you are with your tubing and welding... if you really take your time and do it right the first time you won't end up having to buy a lot of extra shit

Dyno Tune - $500 ish
then all the other parts ... depending on quality... will cost you and start adding up... 2 stacks might be a good target idea number but definitely allow for overages... don't scape out and get cheap

a CHEAP kit has been done for just over $1k

but if you want good stuff, good steel, good, flanges, bov, wastegate, turbo and good fittings and other parts your looking at probably high $2ks probably $3k
and A LOT of work
it takes Andy at tma baout 40hours for just the street kit i believe he told me
thats using shorty headers
and he's used to making them. i'd imagine about at least double the time not knowing or doing it for the first time

piping is normally the super expensive part, you can get a nice turbo for 800-1000 and materials another 1000-1500 for 2500-3000 you can make a really nice kit for 1500-2000 you can make a decent low boost DD kit

or you can just pay someone to do it right and have the reassurance that nothing is gonna go wrong.. you mess up and your investment goes out the window
