Pros and Cons of the V6

I'm trying to figure out what to do, if anything, to my new to me 05. My Ford Dealer is also a Roush Dealer and said they can supercharge my V6 to give it as much power as a GT. Cost is 6700. Why would one want to do that vs putting that money toward a GT? Would the souped up 6 get better mileage than the V8? Lower insurance? I'm sorry, I don't understand that if someone wants that much more power why not just get the GT?

uhh you can get a supercharger (kit) for ur car for around 4000$ and ur insurance will be cheaper but if you get totaled ur fucked pretty much because they wont cover anything you have put into the car. Im building my v6 up because uhhh i duno, i paid it off and its there.

honestly just leave
theres a turbo kit for $4k or $5k on the new mustangs that'll blow the roush v6 and GTs

leave it at that
and please do not stir up problems
especially being new this is a BAD start

and theres low 11 second s197s stock motor and turbo kit
ive seen plenty of s/c and turbo GTs run low 12s high 11s
theres even a 10 second vortech s197 stock block 16psi and race gas

ive seen very few s197 GTs run low 11s and 10 stock motor and they're risking alot

here is your soloution.

Buy a 2004 Cobra

your faster than both ( even if they strap a blower on) and already have forged internals.

If you want a double cheese from McDonalds, just order one. Dont go getting a cheeseburger and asking for an extra meat. If you cant afford a double cheese, than save your money untill you can afford one. In the mean time, dont be a bitch, eat something else.

Welcome to the forums BTW!

WOW, didn't know I was going to start problems.

I thought this was a Mustang froum to discuss the cars. Apparently not. I will take your advice and I will leave, although fairly disappointed.

Obviously if your looking to have a car purely for performance you should get the GT. Insurance will be a little bit cheaper for the V6. But if you put a supercharger on the V6 I think your gas mileage will go down and be pretty much the same as a GT. And IMO the 05-08 GT's look way better than the sixxers of the same year.

.. the differences have been the same since they stopped making the 5.0s.. fog lights, rear bumper. GT is always twice as likely to have leather seats

Screw the s/c and get the turbo kit. Not a big drop in MPG until you hit the higher RPM's. I got the v6 so i could afford insurance on my college budget and still have a good looking car. I'll try and find this site i was reading about the pros and cons of both the s/c and t/c.
