Dual Exhausts?

I'm looking into getting a good dual exhaust for my '03 V6 and was wondering what would be the best way to go? I've had some people tell me Borla but wanted to get some insight from other Mustang owners before i drop 800 bucks or so on an exhaust

What do you want? Full exhaust? Midpipe and cat back? Cheap ass Y-Pipe catback?

Full exhaust: BEST GAINS in sound and perf.- Mac long tubes, mac short offroad H pipe, gt mustang catback of choice

Midpipe and catback: Second-Best gains in sound and perf.- Highflow or offroad X/H pipe and gt catback of choice

Cheap ass Y-pipe catback: Cheap-Ass gains in sound and perf.- everyone makes them and they suck.

There are a lot of threads about what each setup can provide, and there is even a main page article on it. Learn a little about what you want then we can help you decide what is best for your application

most of those gains are in the long tubes and mid pipe. MAINLY long tubes, which most people dont get them when they get their exhaust no matter how much we push it out there.
i didnt get them but that was before i got on this site, and before i knew how much of a pain it was to get them installed now.

if you want fulll exhaust and you plan on getting long tubes later, just get them now! just so you know the whole thing is gonna cost near $900 compared to an exhaust shop doing it for $300-$400

keep in my i went to an exhaust shop. they used 2.25 inch piping, that i now dont want, NO MID pipe just straight back pipes, and no long tubes and they sed i might have gained about 1hp.

go the $900 route, your gettting 2.5in pipes, a MID pipe that'll flow better and best sounding. and the long tubes which the whole set up will probably shoot you 15-20 if you engine is stock. if its not and you have some other mods you can see 20-25 hp. and some say eventually you can get 30hp out of the whole thing. idk about that but i know your gonna at least see 15-20hp. and a badass sound

ohh, well the exhaust is a good first mod, and especially if you get everything the long tubes mid pipe and exhaust you'll love the hp gain and sound and you'll feel a difference driving.
another option to make it breathe better is Cold Air intake.
i'd get that and a set of gears, 4.10 if you dont have any plans on a supercharger or turbo and 3.73's if you do plan on getting either of the 2.
gears will be the most noticable difference most likely on thecar.

good luck with it! and trust me, everything that ppl on the site mention to you is good information. especially from a site moderator such as Atlanticblue who was helping you

you should plan ahead what you wana do with your car so you wont have to re-do or take out anything later and spend more $$

good thing to start off with is your bolt on's
the full exhaust..
CAI
Underdrive pulley
add some gears and t-lok to it.
then you really need to think about what you want if you want to go further

get mac long tubes, off road short H pipe and gt mustang cat back you want. then you can get a cam and tune from the sct xcal 2, or at least a tune to optimize on the mods!

take out the air silecer, you can gain up to 3 hp. Also get a k&n air filter, that will give you about 3-5 hp.
