lol seems like everyone got up and left. To the best of my understanding, a 4.2L doesnt necessarily have to come from an already assembled motor you could get a stroker kit from various performance parts vendors, though i have heard people pull them out from F150's. Bore and stroke will depend on your setup.

Yes, I have found the 4.2 crank available from many places. But I want to know what vehicle it was from and what year. F-150's I guess I havent researched them. Although from what I've seen, and drove I havent seen a 4.2 in them.
And for the bore and stroke question, I'm talking about 4.3 built motors from ssms for example. And how they are setup number wise.

theres 2 different length rods you can order. usually the over bore is about .2-.3 for most guys
4.2L STEEL crank you can grab from an f-150
i personally prefer a brand new crank

yes its a STEEL crank btw

btw... if you want a stroker kit, go to supersixmotorsports.com they sell the stroker kit, and they sell a power package that has the intake, heads, and a cam. Be prepared to spend some cash though... that shit can cost you big.

hence why i rolled the eyes

SSMS does have i guess you can say they;re motors as proof but if you can build a motor you can build a motor. as long as you know it.

they have quality parts but only thing they get custom is the pistons...everything else like scat rods and crank i know where they get it.
im looking into calling diamond or ross to get forged pistons custom for our cars.
should really drop my motor prices

actually obdnanrs motor was $5500..or is w/e
for that same setup on ssms its much over $7k
$7k gets you a well built long block with stage 2 heads that wont flow as good as the heads that obdnanr is getting..
and theres no upper or lower intake
they charge more for the stage 3 heads and the upper intake is $300 on their site and the lower is $400
you'll be looking at, at least $7600 probably closer to $8k with out it being shipped and you sending the cores

obdnanr's is $5500 w/o shipping

Ah I see. Thanks for the information. I was just very curious on the motor, If i follow through with a build I most definitely will order new
I am still searching local yards for a block to build on. So far no luck and its starting to get aggravating.
Can anyone suggest a online refurbish center
