if you are low on cash, a GT mustang would be the best upgrade for dollar. it takes a lot of money to make the singleports v6 fast, either that or mechanical knowhow to swap over the thunderbird supercoup s/c and then beef up the rear end. I have put over 4-5 grand into my splitport v6 and just run with the 99-04 gt. so the cars you listed will take more than bolt ons to beat, a power adder or a cam is needed.

tell us your budget and we can go from there

1000 could get you 4.10:1 ring and pinion gears, and frpp t lok, sct xcal 2, and gear installation. this will be the most noticeable gain from that money.

or if you want sound as opposed to speed, you could get mac long tube headers, short offroad H pipe and catback, sct xcal 2, and the misc. hardware and electrical to hook this up.

the ring and pinion is in the rear axle, what the ratio means is that for every 1 rotation the pinion gear makes, the ring gear has to make 4.10. what this does is greatly improve acceleration. the only problem is that it will hurt top speed and you will tach a hell of alot of rpms on the highway.
FRPP is Ford racing performance parts and a t lok lets you burn 2 tires instead of 1
the xcal is a tuner you tune your cars computer with
and gear install is how much you are gonna have to pay to get most of it done cause i doubt you can do it

I'd ditch the v6 and find a GT. The WRX you can beat unless it's a STI then you'll need to do quite a few upgrades. The evo is gong to take quite a few mods, too. If you can source a Terminator for a good price I'd jump on one of those and then all you'll need to do is a pulley swap on the supercharger and really fry some rice.

$1500 is not gunna beat an STI or EVO on v6 mustang. you'd need a s/c for sure...and even some bolt ons. both will rip out the whole with their 4wheel drive, and their turbos dont help you out in a roll either.

Twin turbos 3.73s and t-lok might but you in the game...but the turbos have to be on low psi or your not gunna have your engine to long

i say you'd need $3,000 in that engine or more for sure. unless u get lucky and find some cheap s/c's

and i would love to see a s/c ANYWHERE for under $300....maybe thats a bid..but not a buy it now price...you will not find a s.c that cheap. i dont know where you got that
maybe you forgot a 0 cuz they range from if your lucky $3k for one but mainy $4k $4.5

your best bet is selling your car for a GT, and even then a stock GT wont beat those cars.

you picked some fast cars to wana beat so soon. you should start with wanting to beat like a prelude or GT's or since you have a 98 a 99-04 V6 and the 96-98 GT's

STI runs about 300hp i think
and the EVO your probably talking about an evo VIII, some push 400hp stock i believe....thats what i heard on TOP GEAR
