you undo both sides of your driveshaft...the yolk is attached to one side, the remainer of the driveshaft is on the other side...the yolk slips over the driveshaft its designed so your driveshaft can legnthen and shorten as your car moves and flexes, thats about the best way i can explain it anyways, just make sure that it has enough grease between the two when you go to put it back together, if you buy a new yolk you will need to add more grease no if ands or buts about that...

if you ever take off your driveshaft, to replace something its a good idea to replace your u-joints while your at it. they require grease too
