Another thing:
94-04 >
generally*

X pipe = raspy(er)
H pipe = deep(er)
Prochamber = interesting almost eliminate the v6 rasp sound.

can i add my input on 05+ with the xpipe?
from my 30 mins of driving mine right now
x pipes aren't really raspy on our cars, just a real smooth sound, i guess more mellow like SSS was talking about earlier
i have no idea about the h pipe though

which i like mine looks almost exactly like a gt so i can make it sound like a gt when i want it to. but a six when i want it to too.
why'd you get shortys if i may ask i thought they didn't really do anything performance or sound wise
i went with bbk shorty's because i don't like the mac L/T's
when i get better at welding and a better set up i am planing on fabing up my own set, and get the jet hot coted

Oh i forgot that part:

Headers:
BBK shorties = big waste unless your supercharged, and need to flow for 300hp+

Mac long tubes are the way to go curently.

I wont input on the 4.0L because I'm not 100% sure bout the headers.

- then their is a flowmaster knock off thats supposed to sound exactly the same.

(the original 40s sound the best, not delta, not super ORIGINAL)

Magnaflow tends to have a smoother tone but it gets raspy.

Long tubes + flow 40s = best sound, even better without cats.

Long tubes + magnaflow = smoother sound, take off cats and its horrid city.

Anything else that sounds REALLY GOOD ON V8s (basanni/borla) sounds horrible

4.0L stangs:

pypes mid muffler system (1)
aero turbine (2)

everything else is whisper quiet!
+1

I'm probably biased, but I like GT/Mach/Cobra take-off exhaust on our sixes.

Not as loud as other aftermarket setups, but they tend to be less raspy, too.

I've heard plenty of 6's that sound pretty good near idle, but absolutely heinous up top.

Flow 40 ORIGINALs for a crazy raspy/deep sound.. probably the meanest sound for a v6.. or MAC flowpaths for alot less raspy and more smooth
