Exhaust poll.......

hey im trying to make a poll on what exhaust setup WITHOUT engine work people think sounds best on sixers... and what are the thoughts on borla and spintech side exhaust setups ....

what sucks is exhaust is that one thing that really makes ur car YOUR car so thats why im finding outwhat everyones favorite exhaust setup is

i know what you mean there are 2 thing s to consider with exhaust sound and performance.

also what mods do you have to you car right now.

well i just got the car so as of now just a CAI and a custom intake head nothing major..... tryin to compete with my fathers Torino Cobra haha in my dreams.....

i just put pypes mid muffler full catback with an x pipe on mine. like 30 mins ago lol
and im impressed on how it sounds myself. but mines a totally different type engine than ya'lls

what is a custom intake head I've never heard of it

ya pypes mufflers sound bad one the 3.8 IMO
but i like there x pipe

well me and my pops took a intake head not really meant for my car and fabbed it to fit in my fender because trying to get it on was a bitch but the filter has sick breathing..... took work but well worth it

lol no and intake head lol some intake filters are to big for certain cars... with the air filter we bought is obviously to big to fit in my fender but we made it fit basically a bigger filter head lol just tryin to type fancy i guess haha

Here we go:

94-04 v6:

Chambered mufflers usually give you that "i wanna sound like a v8 but I have 6 cylinders sound"

- Flowmaster seems to be on top
- Mac seems to be next
- then their is a flowmaster knock off thats supposed to sound exactly the same.

(the original 40s sound the best, not delta, not super ORIGINAL)

Magnaflow tends to have a smoother tone but it gets raspy.

Long tubes + flow 40s = best sound, even better without cats.

Long tubes + magnaflow = smoother sound, take off cats and its horrid city.

Anything else that sounds REALLY GOOD ON V8s (basanni/borla) sounds horrible

4.0L stangs:

pypes mid muffler system (1)
aero turbine (2)

everything else is whisper quiet!

no header yet though hope to get some longtubes within a year or two, but right at crank up and initial idle there really isn't much difference between mine and a gt. but when i get on it it sounds like a six....
which i like mine looks almost exactly like a gt so i can make it sound like a gt when i want it to. but a six when i want it to too.
why'd you get shortys if i may ask i thought they didn't really do anything performance or sound wise
