well price wise you are looking at 1000+ easy for a good set.
and what they do is put the spring around the shock. this gives you a stiffer ride ans well as the ability to adjust the spring hight. |

I asked because while the Pro-Kit gives a good drop, it doesn't bump up the spring rate much, which is a major component in Mustang handling improvement.
![]() Benefits: 1. Better force geometry means you can increase the wheel rate (essentially, handling) while actually LOWERING the spring rate. 2. Because conventional location springs are ridiculously heavy (~11lb compared to ~5lb for the new hardware AND spring), you lower the total unsprung weight by a significant margin, and therefore have better handling AND better ride (assuming you don't go crazy with the spring rate). 3. Because the lower spring perch is now on a threaded cylinder, you can adjust the height of your car to virtually whatever your heart desires. So, those are 3 of the big advantages... Of course, there are others, such as overall weight loss, allowing you to run perchless A-arms, etc. There is an increased cost associated with going to coilovers in the first place, but it's worth it, IMO. Something to consider, at least.

if you are goign with 18's the Prokit should be fine. But if you are worried then go with the H&R SS. This has more of a drop then the prokit but less then the sportlines. If you live in a bumpy area with lots of speed bumps and high curbs then the Sportlines you will most likley have problems with clearance issues. So if that applies to you then id go with the Prokit or SS. 18's will look good with either one. Some say the Prokit isn't enough in the rear but i think it looks fine.

the reason as to why i haven't lowered my car was when i was looking a springs i then found coil overs and decided that they would be much better and decided to go with them. however haven't saved up the money to get them yet. |

yea mines on the right. im pretty good as far as ground clearance, just have to drive with common sense sometimes on certain dips...but after doing that for years now i tend to drive everything like that haha...i have actually been laughed at one time when by habit i went over a lil dip in the road turning in somewhere in our truck...i realized i was driving just like i do in my car haha

If you can't do coilovers go with the H&R SS

sportline
Just to throw in my two cents , my 03 coupe that I wrote off last year had a set of springs off ebay from canuck motorsport but with my 02 convertibe I went with the sportline and they did drop it more but they feel solid and actually they not much more that the ebay specials . And yes there are parking lots that I avoid due to the springs and the magnaflow exhaust system. Id vote for the sportsline . Des
