Question (Cracked Heads)
hey... i heard that the v6's have a tendency to get cracked heads really easy. true or not true.

I'd only say that's truer of a V6 than any other stang 'cause the owner's of 'em try to hang with the V8's and wind up killing their heads (and everything else) in the process... (I'd know - that's why my V6 won't run, lol) Most stock heads can only take you so far anyways, but I wouldn't say they are easily cracked.

the essex v6 has more of an oiling issue than anything else. the 3.8 wasn't the greatest engineered motor from the factory, when it was first introduced they had a bunch of different problems that werent really fixed till the later years lwhen the went to the split port design

the head gaskets blow more commonly than a head cracking. this is only very evident for the singleports with thin gasket designs

never read of anyone cracking the 3.8 mustang head, i'm sure it's not impossible but headgaskets and valves are the common culprits

I don't know of many crack heads with v6 Mustangs, they mostly seem to drive Caprice's and Crown Vics.
