what do you mean by the muffler type? the muffler brand? If you mean different brand, then that will have a big impact on cost. If you mean by size 2.25 vs 2.5....i dont think there should be much of a cost difference if any. And the best sound if you opinion.

2.5" pipe and a cross over pipe, most of the time an h pipe works just fine

well by got get to you mean you are taking it to a shop to have one made custom or what.

and the one thing you want to make sure you want to do is get true duals. and or the mid pipe that is your choice depending on the sound you want.

+1 make sure that you get an h-pipe or an x-pipe. Otherwise, there is almost no point to doing the exhaust.

no performance gain in whichever mid-pipe setup you go with whether its a H, X, divorced, or prochamber......even fire engines doesnt get any benefits...just changes the exhaust tone.

I think what he meant was that it would be pointless if he keptthe y-pipe. He probably forgot to mention true duals.

What if you keep the y pipe and just get one muffler? What would that sound like?

i dont think its going to be true duals the guy at the shop is gonna do, im paying 400, isnt "true dual" more expensive?

so if it ISNT a true dual im getting, do i need to bother with the x/h pipe choice?

prices normally range from 300-450$

get true duals (you dont need a cross over for anything)

some ppl dont know that our engines are even firing so you will not see much of a gain with a H pipe or X pipe the stock y pipe is really restrictive so you will want true duals.

go with a 2.25" diameter if you don have any future plans for the car. Go 2.5" if you are going to get f.i or punch some really nice numbers in the future.

For brands. Flowmaster or mac sound good. Magna is really really raspy.

Get longtube headers if you want a lil more h.p (Mac ceramic coating are the only ones out there). Never buy shorties because they dont give any gains. Unless you want to have some good looking stock headers well buy em.

and i dont remember anything more right now

Yes that is what I meant...that he needed something other than the stock y-pipe. However, you guys are right there are other options.
