i thought somebody said in a post a while bak that the 4r70w tranny would fuk with the computer & not shift rite. i just want it to work like it should and stuf. while i have the tranny out i was gonna put a shift kit in, should i go wit a full manual? i was thinkn bout this one Transgo Performance AODE - TransGo Performance Shift Kits - summitracing.com
or this one
Transgo Performance AODE-S - TransGo Stick Type Kits - summitracing.com

4r70w and the AODE are the same transmission AODE is just the discription (automatic over drive with electronic shifting) 4r70w is the transmission code

and 94-04 all have the aode/4r70w

also transgo is junk get b&M or a Jmod

there are tiny differences between the two but all in all they are the same transmission...i think its somethin to do with the gear ratios

its the shift solenoids, they changed the signal pattern in 96 and upgraded them to better systems in 99 but it wont change how the transmission will act on the car

sounds pretty cool, but sounds to me like that would be harder on the tranny over time

If you get a shift kit you should stay auto. An auto with a shift kit will always outshift a manual.
