still not sure on exhaust for my 2000 v6 stang
i was wondering what exhaust would sound the best on my 2000 v6...ive heard that flomaster 40's would sound the best but on the youtube video clip of it and it sounds good when he starts it but when the guy steps on it it sounds like some1 banging a trash can...i was wondering if that was jsut because it was a video clip or becuz there are better exhausts out there...once i put one on its staying on .. and i mean i dont want one thats loud as hell i jsut want a nice decent throaty sound flooring it or not...thanks

Welcome to the world of the even fire motor. Unfortunately ALL exhausts will sound ricey to some dgree and yes flow 40's are about the best sounding you can get IMO...

after about 3000rpms it'll sound the same and a lil ricey
the video clips are not exactly like the real life hearing it for yourself event kinda. like turp sed i dont think your gonna find a better sounding or more muscle sounding exhaust type then flowmaster 40s or Maybe mac...long tubes will help

i would recommend mac exhaust parts. it sounded better then expected once i installed my new exhaust. mac ceramicoated longtube headers, mac offroad h pipe and 2.5' mac catback. sounds real nice to about 3k and after that as they said it starts gettin a little ricey. if i had a decent way to record what it sounds like i would to give ya an idea.

yep, turp nailed it. with the even firing motor, above 2500-3k rpms, welcome to why v8 owners will never own a v6, even if it can be made faster cheaper to an extent.
here is a link of my setup: mac long tubes off road H magnaflow catback

Yeah, it got more muscular from when I had all 4 cats, to just two, and now none. You cannot get much more muscular at high rpms with an even-firing, stock-cammed essex motor

I really don't recomment loudmouths for sixers. Videos always sound different, and loudmouths IMO are just that...loud. That reminds me of a boat motor.
