Underdrive Pulleys? Cams?

underdrive pulleys?

whet do they do and how much can they increase preformance....ive had people tell me to invest in this item but ive never really researched it

cams?

what brand? how much would i be for a shop to install or how hard would i be for myself to instal? how much will it increase preformance?

Underdrive pulleys slow down your accessories. Which lets more of the power that your engine already has out. If your planning on supercharging the car, but really want u/d pulleys keep the stock pulleys they will be needed for the s/c install.

For a cam. Not cams we have a sohc motor not a dohc. Comp cams always is nice, but for the sixer we are really limited to brands and such. Check out the cams at www.supersixmotorsports.com A cam is really the part that pulls your whole setup together. Gets everything to really work well together. There is a right up somewhere on the boards about a cam install. It is a long job to do. Depends on the cam that you get will determine how much hp you will make with it.

V6's only have a cam, just so you know
cricket pretty much nailed it
cams get shoot you 20-25hp maybe even more on a 6 depending which you get.

underdrive pulleys(UD pulleys) shoot u ...i wana say 7-10hp. most sites say 14-15 but they always add more to make you want it more

Couldn't tell ya, since I havn't ventured into that mod yet, but if I had to guess around $500-$600. I'm hoping I'm guessing too much also.

Not to jack your thread or anything, but I hear everyone talk about gettin ASP u/d pulleys. I can't find them for the sn-95 so would the u/d pulleys from vmp be fine? I know to stay away from motoblue since they have quality issues.

ASP is top notch along with March. I have personally had issues with Motoblue quality, and I would not recommend them. VMP stuff is generally high quality, so I would recommend them with the u/d too

but what year car is yours...cricket doesnt have a 99-04 stang therefor he cannot find an ASP ud pulley from v6mustangstuff to put on.
i thought the 99-04s whould fit his model

Yea, but is that just the crank pulley? I'm lookin for the whole kit with the shorter belt.

Chris 99-04 pulleys won't fit because they have a harmonic balancer on them. 94-98 pulleys don't.

oh sorry i misunderstood. i never found a set from asp but i think they sell the water pump and alternator on their own website. as far as the belt goes i just went to auto zone and got one. im pretty sure you dont have to have a specific brand. the belt size is on their website too.

It's cool. ASP may not make a set, but from my experience with VMP I am happy with their products so I'll prob get it from them.
