(2005-2008)Long headers vs shorty Headers

I'm trying to decide which headers to purchase for my 2007 V6 Mustang and I was looking for other peoples thoughts on JBA shorty headers vs V6 MAC longtube headers for 05-08 V6 Mustangs... What I'm looking for is a more deeper sound and performance increase.

long tubes is your best bet... shorties should only be used as a direct replacement for stock.

I'm looking at some MAC ceramic shorties. Exhaust mods on the S197 make virtually no difference due to the factory 2.5" piping.

They'll help in the long run whenever you go F/I though.

Generally LTs FTW. However, shorties can be useful with a turbo setup.

LTs give you more velocity down the runners...which makes them better than stock/shorties. Unless yur turbod, LTs > shorties/stock manifolds

Turbos have custom headers and dont use the stock manifolds or shorties if you have them. Remember the plumbing is all different now because of how the exhaust gases have to be routed to the turbo(s)

you do realize that a lot of guys run shorty headers that are just inverted for turbo set ups.

wrong. if you are going to go Supercharged down the road get long tubes. better flow than shorties or stock manifolds. if you are going to make a turbo kit down the road then get shorties. if you are planning to buy a pre-built turbo kit then you dont need headers as the turbo come with them.

if you do go supercharged or stay n/a then get long tubes. shorties are a waste of money unles s(like said above) you are going to buildyour own turbo kit.
