i think they do thats why the 94-98 had so bad of head gasket problems because they didn't put the right gasket, and with the different expansion times of the metals (aluminum a lot faster than iron) the head gaskets blow

It's true-
I'm dealing with the problem with my '97 V6. I actually had to replace the motor because when the head gasket went it went so bad that the #3 cylinder was trying to compress coolant (instead of fuel and air)
and ended up bending a piston rod. Although we didn't know this until about 2 weeks after we did the head gaskets and threw a rod in the motor. I suppose we should have checked that while the heads were off. A good hint being the coolant getting pumped out the tailpipe like a faucet. Just holding the cylinder heads you can feel how much lighter they are than most (cast iron) heads off of other engines. Don't forget: people pay lots of money for aluminum heads on performance engines. -Hope that helps, Nathan
